WHAT IM STUDYING

i'm pursuing a master of science in library and information science. basically, it means i should be good at organizing things -- especially data.
for my final semester, i'm researching:

data colonialism

digital access

interinstitutional programming (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums)

how tech/ai reinforces data colonialism

the big question I want to ask is whether AI has a place in information dissemination institutions, especially local/smaller ones that want to use it for convenience. these spaces have been increasingly less funded over the past decade, and AI isn't helping in the way that they think it is.
funnily enough, my dad said it best : "sometimes people don't see the hard right over the easy wrong."
so for the next few months, i'll be doing deep research on digital colonialism and AI through the combined lens of library/info science and museum/archival studies.
